U.S. River Patrol Forces Operating Base Long Binh (1969-1970)
This vast Army command and logistical complex northeast of Saigon in the Republic of South Vietnam also served as a naval operating base during 1969-1970. River patrol units carried out their anti-infiltration duties on the waterways of the area from this facility on the Dong Nai River. As part of the Vietnamization of the conflict, Vietnamese Navy units relieved their American counterparts there in November 1970.
